Hi, I'm Gavin Fawcett
18 years of web development experience, distilled into a better way to build websites.
Yorkshire born and bred (with Lancashire roots via my parents), I made Manchester my home in 2016. After nearly two decades of building websites for agencies, enterprises, and everything in between, I founded Build 76 with one goal: make getting a great website simple and affordable.

The Journey to Build 76
From writing my first lines of PHP to founding a company built on doing things differently.
The Beginning
Started my journey as a PHP developer, learning the foundations of web development and falling in love with building things for the web.
Going Independent
Moved to the North East and started contract work. Built enterprise solutions for clients including the NHS, developing a client login portal for their First Aid training programme.
Manchester Calling
Relocated to Manchester and made it my home. Started freelancing for agencies across the UK, seeing firsthand how projects were managed—the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Build 76 is Born
After years of witnessing client frustrations with painful timelines, poor communication, and overcomplicated processes, I decided to build something better.

JavaScript & TypeScript
The language of the web. From vanilla JS to modern TypeScript, I've built everything from simple scripts to complex applications.

Why "Build 76"?
In programming, a "build" refers to a compiled version of software—each iteration gets a new build number. It represents progress, improvement, and the constant evolution of a project.
And 76? That's a bit more personal. It comes from the alphabetical positions of my initials:
So Build 76 represents the continuous improvement of web development, with a personal touch that reminds me why I do this—to build something meaningful, one project at a time.
