The brief
North East Dance (NED) is a non-profit Community Interest Company based in Sunderland, dedicated to providing educational programmes in dance and fitness to individuals and communities across the North East. They run 12 distinct programmes covering everything from curriculum support for schools to seated exercise for limited mobility participants, alongside 8 services including studio hire, workshops, kids parties, and wedding dance packages. Their mission centres on three values: Improving, Changing, and Engaging (ICE). With over 20 staff, professional affiliations, and a Matrix Quality Standard accreditation, NED needed a website that could properly represent the breadth and depth of what they offer.
What we did
We rebuilt the site around the two distinct arms of NED's business: programmes and services. Each gets its own searchable, filterable section with dedicated detail pages. The contact form was completely reimagined as a multi-step process that routes enquiries by type, capturing the right information upfront. Programme pages now include transparent tiered pricing so schools and local authorities can see costs immediately. The entire site is powered by Directus CMS, giving the NED team full control over every page, programme, service, news update, and staff profile. We used ISR (Incremental Static Regeneration) so content changes appear on the live site almost instantly without needing a full rebuild. Design elements from the original Webflow site were carried forward to maintain brand continuity, including the watercolour dancer imagery, navy and magenta colour palette, and the overall visual identity.
The outcome
The new North East Dance website transforms a limited Webflow site into a properly structured platform that serves both arms of the business. Programmes are searchable and priced transparently. Enquiries arrive with context through the multi-step form. The NED team manages all content independently through Directus. ISR means updates go live in seconds. The site is built to expand into a full client portal in phase 2, with the login infrastructure already in place.

Programme search and difficulty filters were built for a parent scrolling on the bus, not a spreadsheet on a desktop.

We had an excellent experience with Gavin. Signing up online was simple and straightforward, and we felt truly valued throughout the process. The communication was outstanding, and we have nothing but praise for the entire journey. The results have been absolutely fantastic.
